Creating a Seasonal Page

If you want to create a new seasonal page on one of the freebies network sites create a standard Page within WordPress.

You then add page content e.g. an optimised SEO intro on the page, configure the meta tags etc on the page as you normally would.

Then when you have a place for showing the relevant seasonal offers that exist on the site you can do this easily using a shortcode.

Inserting Relevant Seasonal Offers Using a Shortcode

Use the relevant shortcode below by copying and pasting this into the site content.

Free Stuff World

Replace VALUE and (where used) COUNTRYSLUG as below.

Season values (all sites)

Replace VALUE with one of:

  • black-friday
  • christmas
  • easter
  • fathers-day
  • halloween
  • mothers-day
  • st-patricks-day
  • valentines

Country slug (Free Stuff World only)

Also replace COUNTRYSLUG with the category page slug.
Example: USA → usa

Linking to the Seasonal Page

You should ensure once the page is published that the page is linked to from somewhere on the site, on WOW Freebies this is usually the menu or an automated ribbon on offers. Matt will usually implement this once you tell him it’s live.
